Don’t buy the drinks with all the pumps and additives, instead get a simple green tea ( or unsweetened tea of your choice) and add a splash of heavy cream. Walla, it’s so pretty, costs way less money, carbs, calories and additives. If you need to have extra flavor add your favorite electrolyte powder or even lemonade, fuzzy navel or lemon tea protein powder. (Note: you’ll need a shaker for the protein powder so I usually save that for when I’m at home unless I’m prepared and bring my frother.) Let this contrast on this Transformation Tuesday Video be a real life example of Mindset is Everything! In the 1st clip shot yesterday, I am purely going thru the motions of trying on this dress I got last December to see how it fits and looks and if I could consider wearing it to a December event. I am in pain and uncomfortable from my leg injury in Atlanta AND I am sick with a sore throat and cough. Funny thing is I was noting how the top was a bit big but I figured I could pull it off with a necklace. It wasn’t until I saw the clip from last year that I remembered it was designed to be an off the shoulder dress🤷🏻‍♀️ My lack of expression an pizazz does absolutely nothing for me or the dress, no wonder I wasn’t convinced it would work! In the second clip, I am shining from the first moment and those curves are curving in all the right ways! Does my enthusiasm and sultry moves have anything to do with how it looks much better last year??? I would surely say so and also my pure joy that I had accomplished so much transformation already was fully coming thru.😊 I must admit I have been thrown for a full loop with this injury and am fully unprepared to manage this physically and mentally! I know this is all part of getting to the next chapter but I could have done without the interruption and transitioned quite nicely with confidence and grace. But, here we are and I am going to keep trying to lay low to allow for as much healing is possible before my next deadlines and in reality hosting Thanksgiving for 25 in 10 days! Yikes!!! I hope this reminds you to get into your glow era and stand in your magic!!! We can clearly see how different we present when we forget who we are and get bogged down by the here and now. This too shall pass. On This Day in 2022 ~ Maui Sheraton Kaanapali Fun fact: I was drinking a non alcoholic pina colada to keep the swelling at bay from my Superman style trip and fall towards the end of July and because of an AFIB episode I had a few days before this vacation to Hawaii started. Little did I know that I was Allergic to COCONUT 🥥 and it was a driver of AFIB for me!🤦🏻‍♀️ It has been a wild 3 years that included my beloved dog, Charlie’s unexpected passing in March 2023, fires that took down Maui just 3 miles from this very location in August 2023 to my diagnosis of 26 food allergies that were fueling my persistent Atrial Fibrulation (AFIB) from June through December of 2023 when I underwent a cardioversion to shock my heart back into rhythm. Food allergies come in many different forms with so many different manifestations and symptoms. I immediately dropped all 26 foods and any derivatives when I was diagnosed in November 2023 and have not brought any back. Avoidance is the way I feel safest and I am not willing to risk potential outcomes so I don’t play. I truly thought that the weight that I had gained would magically fall off and recede as soon as the allergens were removed but that wasn’t the case. At almost 6 months in, I had only released 15 lbs and finally sought out medication to reduce my swelling from Lipedema as I was developing secondary lymphedema in my calves and I was not going down that path without a fight. If you refer to the post previous to this for my Labor Day swim outfit in blue stripes, you’ll note the difference a loss of 75lbs makes. Sometimes trials and tribulations are what gets us headed on the track that leads us to the next path we are meant to forge. I cannot stress enough, if you are struggling with health issues and excess weight, please be sure to at a minimum have yourself checked for food intolerances and food allergies. Beach Fit🏖️ Red, white and Blue for Fourth of July weekend at the beach❤️🤍💙 Lots of time in the salt water to help this Lipedema body decongest and feel fully supported by the water. Water movement is so therapeutic and such an incredible way to destress. Typically, I wear a bikini top or tankini top with my long leg (9 inches preferred) yoga /bike shorts for a practical way to move about the day. The shorts help keep everything where I want it to be and keep my legs comfortable with some compression, too. Thighs that kiss and jiggle are not my jam and I reserve a full bikini for tanning days because I do love a good day of laying out in the sun. I must say though that this and last summer I have tried to avoid that as I am trying to reduce my inflammation and try to avoid things that add inflammation 🤷🏻‍♀️ What’s your go to for beach wear?💬👇 PS- don’t ya just love the sound of the ocean? You may have Lipedema🤔 Yeah, by now, you may have heard of Lipedema since it has been “trending” recently but it’s not new and was written about in the 1940’s at the Mayo Clinic but we are truly just gaining acknowledgment for this disease that primarily affects at least 11% of women from the waist down and often in the upper arms. I don’t see the problem😳 My husband took one look at me in this dress and said “ Take it back!” He said it was not flattering and actually used the Fr***y word😧 Honestly, I think it’s kinda cute and flowy with a breezy kinda look.
