Look 1 - The Coco Cabana ☕️ A curated style series I used to think there was a fine line between something looking classic or dated but lately my perspective has shifted. I’ve realized that what really impacts how we perceive a look has less to do with the item itself, and more to do with the personal styling touches. ✨ Something can be highly referential and still feel fresh and unique on the right person. On the flip side, even the most “timeless” piece can feel costume-y if it doesn’t vibe with the person wearing it. Which isn’t to say that you need to “stay in your lane,” in fact I am a huge fan of surprising pairings and styling. There isn’t a right or wrong way to style something. For me, when a pairing feels right I know I want to wear it. That feeling evolves over time, and that’s okay as well. Recently I heard someone discussing the difference between being into clothing and being into fashion and I think both are totally valid - but a little fashion knowledge goes a long way in terms of deciding where you want to be original vs. take inspiration from others. This swimsuit is one of my favorite purchases of 2025. I love this entire Collab and this print was my absolute favorite and I was thrilled to see it on a structural bathing suit like this. Dillards does these types of ruffles and details on swimsuits extremely well And it looks really cool but is absolutely wearable in the water. Sadly, the summer is officially over so I’m going to be recapping some of my favorite looks starting off with a rundown of everything that I wore on my trip to Grand Cayman earlier this year. The vibes were amazing. The food was amazing. The company was amazing and of course the fashion was amazing as well. I’m already looking forward to the next one! When I pack for a trip, I do it in a very similar way to how I’ve been organizing my themed capsule series in that eye structure. My looks around larger, but easier to repeat items like shoes and bags. Then from there, I feel like I can be very creative with incorporating lots of different colors and silhouettes. I used to be more strictly into separate for traveling, but especially on a relaxing vacation. I now prefer to bring more dresses. I really find that if you have the right jewelry and the right accessories, you will look put together without needing to layer or match garments quite as much. This means you can have a lot of looks but not bring considerably more items overall. This is just how I feel today, though very open-minded to change in the future! 😊

Our last night out on this trip was such a special one. We checked out a brand-new rooftop bar and restaurant - modern, chic, and definitely a fun dining experience. While it didn’t feel specifically “Cayman” to me (it’s the kind of spot you might find in a larger city), it was a great reminder that the island is changing quickly, and maybe this IS what Cayman feels like now. The food was delicious, the views were stunning, and it gave us the chance to see the other end of the beach near some newer resorts. We stopped into the Kimpton, where I’ve stayed before so that Lisa could see the epic decor. It’s a luxe property that I’d definitely love to stay at again. ✨ It felt like the perfect night for Lisa and me: a cross-section of both of our styles and interests, wrapped up in laughter, conversation, and just being together. Living on opposite sides of the country means these moments are rare, so this time together was exactly what this trip was meant to allow. Back at the hotel, we ended the night in happy tears grateful for the memories, reminiscing about the whole trip, and taking a quiet walk to say one last goodbye to the ocean 🌊 (a tradition my parents started with me when I was little. The next morning I flew home - back to the mountains, to my husband, our pets, and to preparing the nursery as we got ready for baby. 💕 This post is the final entry in my travel capsule series, where I’ve been recapping every outfit, memory, and moment from this unforgettable Cayman trip. I’ve stood in this exact spot several times in my life, each instance years apart. Every time I find myself back here I reflect on who I was the last time I found myself on this tiny and chic bridge, and who I am now. I’ve always loved dressing up- but the past few years have really challenged me to wear even more of what catches my eye and really expresses my style. I think we might just be at the beginning of a journey of my personal style- and I can only guess who I might be the next time I find myself on this little bridge again.
To me “resort” and “stripes” are synonymous- and my favorite styles! This Farm Rio dress is fun and unique in all of the right ways.
