Pattern play feels intimidating until you realize you don’t have to get it “right” for it to work.

It’s one of the most overthought parts of decorating. The easiest way to start is by layering pattern in places that are easy to change:

• curtains
• pillow covers
• tablecloths
• sheets and bedding

These pieces can completely change the feeling of a room without a huge commitment.
