Here’s some easy ways to update your dining room that’s stuck in the 90s! ✨

1. Paint is the easiest way to transform a space! Painting the walls a moody color took this space from blah and boring to cozy and charming!

2. Replace the curtains! Hanging heavier, more textured, pinch pleat curtains makes this room feel so much more luxurious and modern. Amazon has a ton of budget friendly options for curtains, comment below and I’ll send you the links to the ones I used in this space!

3. Adding a wall treatment! Wainscoting is having a major moment right now 🙌🏼 I’m obsessed with how it looks with this wallpaper!

4. Updated furniture, I think swapping out the furniture made the biggest difference in this space. The wooden table fits the vibe so much better than the sleek marble tabletop in my opinion.

Do you have a 90s kitchen that needs an update but you’re not sure how to do it on a budget?

Option 1: Keep the cabinets! Dark wood cabinets are making a comeback and these ones are in great shape! With light floors, dark counters, dark backsplash, and dark cabinets the space feels visually imbalanced so I would replace the counters and backsplash with lighter materials.

Option 2: Keep the counters! If you’re looking to keep an extreme budget you can keep the black countertops and paint the cabinets. I would do a muddy beige color to tie in the floors and the backsplash. Then to tie in the black countertops I would add black hardware to the cabinets, black pendant lights, and a black hood above the stove.

So many basements feel small, confined, and often asymmetrical. When you color drench the entire room, it tricks your eye and makes everything feel more cohesive! ✨

I chose a moody color with rich textures to change up the vibe and it feels so much cozier and homey in my opinion!

This week I’m sharing simple tips on how to update your 90s foyer! ✨

Orange oak is the staple of the 90s- early 2000s and such a common design issue, so let’s talk about how we can work with them without having to re-do your flooring!

First, neutral/ cool tone paint will help neutralize the warm undertones. Then updating your light bulbs to a daylight tone (3500 Kelvin) will also help eleminate the orange.

Let’s talk about how we can maximize space in a shared kids bedroom…

BUNK BEDS!! 👏🏼👏🏼 Especially in a small room like this, being able to stack the beds and use the vertical space to our advantage is huge!! We’re saving so much floor space to allow the kids to play and have room to move around! Plus, what kid doesn’t love a bunk bed!? 😍

Placing the bunk bed along the wall away from the window allows all of that natural light to stream through and makes the room feel bigger. Then by adding some texture and color to the walls with board & batten and wallpaper, we’re hiding that ledge that feels visually invasive, but still allowing us to keep it for storage.
