Welcome back to my series “Back To Baking Basics”, where I teach you the fundamental of baking that no one ever explains to you so that you can be more confident in the kitchen. Whether you are a baby beginner baker or a seasoned life long pro, I am sure there is something I can help teach you. . Ep. 12: Yeast In Baking . Yeast: is a single-celled fungus that is used in baking and brewing through a process called fermentation, which causes bread to rise most commonly. . Yeast Activation: the sugar feeds the yeast, and the warm water/milk activates the yeast. Both ingredients start the fermentation process, which encourages the yeast to foam and in turn baked goods to rise. . Hot Tip: yeast activates using a warm liquid such as water or milk and sugar. Then it needs time to foam, if the yeast does not foam after ten minutes, the yeast will not do its job to make bread rise so start over. . serecreate bakingbasics bakinghacks LTKSeasonal LTKHoliday LTKGiftGuide
