Last week was my birthday, and it was everything I needed — calm, beautiful, and full of little luxuries that reminded me to receive with grace.

As an adoptee, birthdays used to bring up questions. But this year, I reframed my story through God’s divine timing. I started the day in prayer and affirmations, then received love fully: breakfast with my husband, a facial that left me glowing, prosecco in hand, and a special new ear piercing to honor my adoptive mom who took me for my second one when I was 13.

I got dressed up for dinner, took photos of my outfit (of course!), and just enjoyed being celebrated. 💕

Here’s the thing — when you’ve been misunderstood or made to feel like you have to prove your worth, it can be hard to accept gifts, help, or even kindness. But receiving is not weakness — it’s trust. It’s saying, “I’m worthy of love, joy, and overflow.”
