Renovating a house is one thing.

We walked away from everything that was “working”—the careers we built, the routines we knew, the predictability that kept things comfortable but uninspired.

Somewhere in the chaos of half-finished rooms and never-ending to-do lists, we found something better.

Work we’re proud of. A version of ourselves we actually recognize.

Walking away from 20 years of what we were supposed to do so we could finally do what we wanted to do?
It’s messy. Exhausting. A little unhinged.

This bathroom was part of our Riverside renovation—our first full flip after I stepped away from running my design firm to focus on flipping homes full time.

I still love every detail: the curved mirror, the warm wood, the soft blush wallpaper, the deep green walls… it felt like a true return to me.

The fear is real: What if you pick the wrong colour?

It’s just paint… until it’s your cabinets, your forever kitchen, and a decision you have to live with every day. My gut is telling me to do something different and I have been second-guessing myself more than I’d like to admit.

PROTIP: I used peel-and-stick swatches so I could live with the colours, move them around, and actually feel how they worked in the space. It helped… a lot.

The only problem?
Now I don’t have one favourite—I have two.
