Join me on this Ted Talk will ya?! Getting dressed doesn’t always mean flattering. Getting dressed doesn’t always mean taller, thinner, smaller. Society has said for years that thinner and smaller = beautiful as well as taller if I’m being honest. And that is just not how it is! I’ve struggled with body image for years and guess what, I still do! Looking at myself on camera all day everyday can definitely awaken those feelings for me. Im my own worst critic. But I am in my era of getting dressed for ME! For how I feel, my mood, my vibe, period! And it has been amazing! I do agree that sometimes we want flattering, and that’s okay! But making it the end goal every time I get dressed is exhausting! So F it! Wear what YOU want! It’s your life! Who cares what someone else thinks! If society had said being shorter, thicker, and curvier was HOT everyone would be doing that. Instead let’s just do what makes us feel best.
And you absolutely never hear men doing this! It’s definitely a woman thing and I hate that for us! Dad bods are welcomed, but mom bods- hide in shame! Just NO!
It’s exhausting, and if someone doesn’t like your outfit or how it looks or if it’s flattering, it’s a good thing they aren’t wearing it! 😉 Love you! 😘
