I’m so far behind on our trip recap but here’s Day 3: Savannah- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge! We ordered room service for breakfast at The Alida & left around 10:30 for Disney World! It’s a long 3 days of driving but it’s the best feeling when you drive under the Walt Disney World arch & everyone cheers! We checked into the Wilderness Lodge (our favorite hotel), saw our favorite friend here, & headed to check out Disney Springs before going to Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner. The food was so good (buffet style with an African theme) & it felt really nostalgic for me because the last time I was there was 17 years ago with my family & my Pop Pop who passed a few years ago. We walked outside after dinner & were excited to see giraffe, zebra, & a few other animals! We took a Lyft back to our hotel because the buses don’t run hotel to hotel & we were exhausted! It was a really fun first day!

Day 4- We woke up & had a slow morning opening the kids’ first souvenirs & drinking our coffee looking out onto the pool from our balcony. We ate a quick breakfast at the hotel & then my Aunt arrived 😁! We swam for most of the day & then, around 3, we headed back to get showers, get dressed, & then take the bus (& boat) to the Boardwalk. We had dinner at Trattoria Al Forno, which was delicious (the lasagna, chicken parm, & gnocchi were so good!), watched a jump rope show, got ice cream, & took a Minnie Van back to the hotel. It was a good day!

The Grand Floridian Cafe is one of our favorite places to eat when we’re in Disney World (they have dirt dessert for the kids & so it’s always high on their list)! I don’t know if we can ever give it up now since this photo series is one of my favorites ever…

Day 5- We had another really nice slow morning at the hotel before getting breakfast and going to the pool. There’s 2 pools at the Wilderness Lodge & A & I went back & forth but J likes to stay where the water slide is or to play foosball & ping pong. We had a little extra time before our dinner reservation so we stopped at the arcade (J’s other favorite place 😂). Then we took to boat to the Magic Kingdom & the monorail to the Grand Floridian where we had our traditional night at the GF Cafe & it was really good!

Day 6- We always start with our first day in the parks at the Magic Kingdom because it’s everyone’s favorite ✨ We took the boat over & started out with an early breakfast at the Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh & friends & then walked right on to Jungle Cruise for our first ride 🌴 We got the new Lightning Lane multi pass for this day & it was definitely worth it- we did so many rides this day… like, almost 20 (@marykatevacations was SO helpful with this!)! We did Tiana’s Bayou Adventure twice thanks to the Lightning Lane & rider swap @
& it would have been worth it just for that (otherwise, you had to join a virtual queue & that always feels stressful to me). After a long day in the park, we went back to our hotel & had dinner at Artist Point with Snow White & the Evil Queen 👑🍎🎀💎❤️ #DisneyWorld #BAMDisney #LTKDisney #travelwithkids

We had breakfast at Akershus in Norway & we really enjoyed it! We skipped Frozen because the wait was crazy by 9:30 am & headed to Ratatouille in France. Amelia & I stayed an extra couple of hours to get ice cream & shop & it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. I always feel like we have to do everything together & often forget about taking time to do things that we want to do individually so this was really special. We had dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe (the ultimate comfort food) & then went for a night swim to round out the day. It was a fun one!

Day 8- Animal Kingdom
We got every penny out of our park hopper pass this day! We started out with breakfast at Tusker House, rode Mount Kilimanjaro Safaris, walked Gorilla Falls, & did a few more things around the park before heading to Hollywood Studios where we basically spent all of our time on Toy Story Mania 😂 Then we took the Skyliner to Epcot (super cool to try & a lot faster than the buses but I don’t love heights & it was hot!) for dinner in Mexico (also very cool!)! Finally, we got ice cream right outside of Canada & walked through the Moana attraction again before catching a bus back to the Lodge… all before 8pm ✨ #BAMDisney #LTKDisney #DisneyWorld

Day 9- MK
This was our last day in @waltdisneyworld (I could have stayed another day!) ☹️ We got our coffee & then got right on the boat to Magic Kingdom to take advantage of early entry. I’d do this again but would have a spot planned to grab breakfast. We had Lightning Lane (we only used it in the MK) & got to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure again with it, which ended up being Joseph’s favorite ride! We decided to head back to the hotel, swim, shower, & then went back to the park for dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and it was delicious! We snuck in a few more rides before catching the boat back to the Lodge to play a couple of games at the arcade before bed 🥰 Since this was our 4th year going with the kids, we’ve definitely figured out some favorite spots but the kids grow & change so much every year that each time we go it’s different! This was such a great trip, though!

Day 9: Orlando -> The Umstead, Cary, NC
We were SO sad to see our @waltdisneyworld vacation & our stay at #disneyswildernesslodge come to an end! We learned early on in our road trip experience that it helps to have something (a destination) to look forward to (specifically a nice hotel with a restaurant) so we booked another room @theumstead & ordered room service for dinner & we were all v e r y happy 😊 This was our 4th time driving to & from Florida & our kids actually do really well in the car. We don’t do a lot of screen time on the drive because Joseph gets carsick so we do little “gifts” every couple of hours instead & they get really excited about them! I’m planning on putting together separate blog posts for the road trip part & Disney- I’ll be sure to share when I do! #waltdisneyworld #roadtripwithkids #drivingtodisney #traveloutfits

Day 7: Animal Kingdom! This was our 3rd & final character breakfast at Tusker House with Mickey & friends & my kids love it (this was our 3rd time doing it)! It’s also right next to the safari ride so it’s nice to start there & walk right over after breakfast. We did the Gorilla Falls trail for the first time this time, too, & it was a really cool experience. The kids watched the Magic of Animal Kingdom before we went & they loved seeing the animals (especially the gorillas) in person & finding out who was who. We did a few more rides plus played a few games in DinoLand & then headed back to the hotel where we played in the arcade, had dinner at The Whispering Canyon Cafe, & then caught a rainbow & a night swim before watching the light show from our balcony.

Day 6: Epcot! We scheduled another early morning breakfast with the princesses at Akershus in Norway & it was fantastic! We saw 5 princesses & it was worth it if only to be able to see so many in one place & avoid waiting in multiple lines in the middle of the day (but the food was good, too!). #Epcot is HOT & a lot of walking with not too many shaded spots so the more air conditioned rides, the better! Amelia’s favorite is Soarin’ & Joseph says his was Spaceship Earth but it’s only because he liked the video games afterwards 😂 We were planning on having a slow night & having dinner at the Lodge but we ended up booking a last minute late dinner at The Plaza on Main Street & snuck in a few more rides at the Magic Kingdom which meant we were able to catch the fireworks! It was another really good (& busy) day. 🎆✨🪐 #waltdisneyworld

Day 5: Magic Kingdom! We woke up early & had breakfast with Winnie the Pooh & friends at the Crystal Palace in the MK. It was a lot of fun & the breakfast was really good- it took a bit longer than we were hoping to see all of the characters (we didn’t mind but just something to consider when doing character breakfasts) so we didn’t get to our first ride til almost 9:30. We started in Adventureland, skipped Frontierland, & did Fantasyland & Tomorrowland. It was cute to see the park all decorated for Halloween 🎃 We came back to the hotel around 3, swam from 4 to 6, & then went to dinner at Artist Point with Snow White & the Evil Queen at 7. We squeezed a lot in & also took a little time to rest in the afternoon because the kids were exhausted (& it was so hot!) It was a fun-packed day! #disneyworld #magickingdom

Day 4: Pool Day at the Wilderness Lodge!
We let the kids (including Joe 😉) sleep in today- everyone needed it! I walked down to get coffee by myself (which was so nice) around 7:30 & everyone was still asleep! Finally, we went to get breakfast a little after 9 at the Roaring Fork- Mickey waffles for the win- & then picked out our spot at the pool. We swam until almost 1 & then grabbed lunch at Geyser Point before taking a break for crafts & heading back to the room to rest & shower for dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We all love the water taxi & since the weather was nice, we took that to the MK & then the GF. On the way back, after shopping at the gift shop, we took the monorail to the MK & the water taxi back to the WL where our captain (Rusty) told us he was in 2 Pirates of the Caribbean movies! We ended the night with Moana, foosball, & fireworks & then the kids fell asleep pretty much upon landing in bed (while we packed for the MK)! #disneywithkids #disneyworldtips #disneyswildernesslodge

Day 3: Savannah, GA -> Disney World
One of our favorite things to do at the Alida (ok, at most hotels) is get room service for breakfast. The kids love to sit in the window seat here & eat (the fluffiest) pancakes while watching tv & it makes it so much easier for us to get on the road earlier. We had breakfast by 8:30, were on the road by 9:30, & pulled into The Wilderness Lodge by 2pm! We got a quick lunch at Roaring Fork (this resort has 4 restaurants on property!) & jumped in the pool because it was so hot. Then we went on an adventure to the Boardwalk (we took a bus to Hollywood Studios & then the water taxi to the Boardwalk) for something new to do & it was a lot of fun! We ate at Big River, had ice cream (the portion sizes are huge!), & then took a Minnie van back (highly recommend)! It was a great 1st day at @waltdisneyworld!
