Ok.. The Dwyer dress from @lillypulitzer arrived to my house today after I’ve been around the states and back again traveling.
I was VERY excited for this namesake dress, but, I think I have a lackluster reaction. The fabric is see through. and it seems very cheap (almost like something I would just toss on to go to the pool).
It has built in cups but the straps don’t stay up on the sides. it’s like they’re too long. The fabric also really hugs your body all over despite where I can see they attempted to make it flowy just at the bottom. It also has a stretch back to accommodate for a larger chest but, most people with a larger chest aren’t going to just have cups built into a dress and be ok, they’re going to have to have something they can wear a bra with.

Ok I’m just going to say it.
1) I’m kind of over all the stores never carrying above a size 12 except in a few random things they have decided would be something someone of size would want … and they’re usually wrong. I.e. a Mila shift is not something I would even try in bc I’m not a rectangle. They don’t fit.
2) the weird super strong soap smell is very annoying and I get migraines. whatever that is needs to be figured out
3) I have lost 60 lbs in the last year … but yet the clothes have gotten smaller and smaller ??? I have multiple DMs every-time I post this saying that I need to buy resell from ppl from about 5 years ago.
Yall remember Lorinas that sold out every single time? Or Kristen’s that also sold out? how about the swing dresses in general. Whatever this dress is I have on here is awful. It flares out right where most people have a stomach that would be trying these on in larger sizes.
Everything is fitting straight up and down. Clingy. And no room for people with a chest, again.

We have reverted back to the “WTAF is this sizing?” phase. How am I in a size 14 other places sometimes even a 12, but still cannot get a size 16 over my hips or chest at @lillypulitzer ? #livinglargeinlilly #fail #lillytryons

* I go in two weeks for a GI procedure to look into the bloating and hernias. Even if I was not bloated these would not have worked

Another FAIL. This is a size 16 dress that is for someone with no chest, no hips, no booty, and definitely not any stomach area what so ever. This is not even close to fitting so I’m sorry yall. Lilly Sale fails?
How many sale fails did you end up having?

I have to say that I can see why each of these were in the sale.
1) the bracelets while pretty are not comfortable at all and a little awkward getting on and off
2) the print while I know it was designed by her family is too big IMO and the print over the chest makes one look small and one look large and the arm holes are HUGE. My friend tried on this style dress in store and commented on how she did not like the Aline of the dress fit that it seemed off. It is also very long
3) the stripe is a travesty on this dress. The material is more like a swim cover and the pockets going into a V into the crotch is … interesting?
4) the sunglasses are huge I love them but I think smaller glasses are back in style.
5) not many people can make the shift dresses work until they’re a square or very short or both. They are not typically curve friendly

So good news and bad news
The holland dress came in (size XL) and it is very pretty in person and stretchy material reminds me of the Pearce maxis. It is also obviously maternity friendly. I have a sibo flare up right now so I literally look 9 months pregnant
The strap that is tight under the chest (on me) also really makes that portion appear even larger and to protrude even more exaggerated so the dress I don’t think works for me… but it will for a lot of you. I think it runs a little large and has room everywhere but for me I don’t want to wear this to Vegas dinners out and people think I’m legit 9 months pregnant! #livinglargeinlilly #lillylovers #lillytryon #maxi #blackandwhite
