Styled with a pair of structured jersey barrel trousers in navy - I’m wearing the large , regular length and have them turned up once at the hem .
Jacket layer is a double cloth unlined fabric in a lovely toffee shade - it’s a great shape as easy modern layer for most. Wearing a U.K. 14

I’ve turned the hem up on the barrel jeans for a different feel. You may mind barrel jeans easier to style when they finish about 1.5/2 inches above your ankle bone.
Boots are last season but m&S have released the new suede version and they are excellent quality !

Answering your style queries …
The best boots for wide leg jeans and trousers ….
Generally I find a more feminine shape the most flattering and balanced with the extra volume in the trousers. A pointed , almond or elongated square toe with a slim boot shaft.
Next consider the heel height - what other shoes do you wear with the jeans ? If you want to be able to switch between trainers , flats and boots easily you need a low heel to maintain maximum trouser length.

These boots I’m wearing are very comfortable , with a cushioned flexi sole and stylish shape.

Jeans are sold out previous season but I’ve linked a similar Gap pair below and also my favourite wide leg style - I wear a 30 regular or long in these.

This knit is up there with my client favourites - it’s a soft clean 100% cotton , a lovely slouchy shape and hangs beautifully.
I wear a large.
The trousers are a structured jersey which means they look crisper than they actually are with added comfort 😉
The barrel shape is soft but apparent and they sit past the ankle at full length. I have style these in a previous post with a turn up or you could hem easily with wonder web.
They come in a longer leg too.
And other shades.
