Her are my shop able reels from Instagram

My unicorn 🦄 plant was passing the tug test only 3 weeks ago. Now it’s filled the pot with roots and pushed a vine with 3 nodes. As of yesterday a new leaf has started to take off and develop! I’m checking hourly for progress. Ok, not hourly, but it feels like it. 😆 You know if you know! 🙌 #hoyaladiagalaska #hoyaspacehladiagalaska

Are you looking for a successful propagation set up? 🫶Comment SHOP below to receive a DM with the link to shop this post on my LTK ⬇ 🫶 I look at it this way, I always walk into a store in hopes to bump into a sales clerk who knows the products best for Hoyas. Whenever I bring a new Hoya into my home, I always check the roots to ensure they aren’t wet or dry-rotted. These particular roots were thick and healthy! 💚 After inspecting them, I placed the plant back into its pot and sprinkled a systemic pesticide into the medium. This plant will stay in quarantine until I’m confident the roots have absorbed the systemic. (Comment ‘shop’ for a direct link.)

I almost always leave my plants in the medium they were sold in. My motto is: ‘If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.’ Plants already go through a lot of acclimation—from leaving their nursery, arriving at local stores, and then adapting to our home environments. Repotting them right away can be an unnecessary shock. Another reason is evident in this video: the roots were well-attached and intertwined with the bark and coco husks. Repotting would cause significant damage to this young root system.

However, if I inspect the roots and find they’re in poor shape, my approach changes completely. In those cases, I cut off the damaged roots immediately and re-root the plant. Even then, I always add a systemic pesticide to the rooting medium.

#Patacharawalai023 is also known as #hoyaIcensis. It has huge, bold leaves—some with a pillowy texture, while others are quite flat. The difference is likely due to changes in its environment.

Right now, its blooms are dripping with nectar. Of course, being indoors means no pollinators—but humans can taste it! Hoya nectar is very sweet. Have you ever tried it?

This beauty is also working on two more umbels of flowers. I think they’ll open in a week or two. Should I show you again when they do?

Please note, many of this variety of Hoya are marketed and sold with splash. My particular plant doesn’t have any splash, but I’ve linked some that are splashy too!

I absolutely love the Sansi pot clip lights! If you’re like me, you’ve probably wondered what the difference is between the 5W and 10W clips—besides the price.

Let’s start with the 10W model. This one has a significantly higher output, making it much brighter and capable of covering a larger area. It’s also great for sunstressing Hoyas due to its intensity. Another big advantage is its longer cord and neck, which I found essential for reaching the left side of my shelves. Thanks to this, I can finally light up that side and add more plants—something I’m thrilled about!

That said, I’ve been using the 5W pot clip lights for over two years with fantastic results. While I now prefer the brighter strength of the 10W version, the 5W lights have consistently delivered excellent growth for the 2–3 plants positioned directly underneath them. I have no plans to stop using them—they’re tried and true! And perfect for many situations!

I have 3 sizeable #hoyapolyneura with this one being my smallest. This the first #hoyapolyneuraflower that I’ve ever gotten. I’m growing my #hoyapolyneurabroget in a soil mix. I’ve found that this type of you wants to never sit dry and will only put out a flower when it’s root bound. This #hoya is notorious for growing many peduncles that stay small, right next to the node, until one day it decides to mature.

Hoya ‘Patricia’ is a cross between Hoya Elliptica and Hoya darwinii. I’ve grown H Elliptica but not H darwinii. I feel Hoya cv patricia is easier to grow than H Elliptica. At least in my experience and in my environment.

Can we take a moment to appreciate #hoyacrassipetiolatasplash? Those silvery splashes on its deep green leaves are pure magic! It’s like nature’s own art piece with those patterns.

I’m told that Dischidia is a close cousin to hoyas, hence why I think hoya people have this genus in our hoya collections. I would categorize this one as semi difficult. I can’t seem to understand its watering needs in coco husks, soil, or gritty substrate, but it re-roots easily. It sun stresses to a beautiful reddish color, but the shape and veining in the leaves is my favorite! This plant, #dischidiaovata is also called #watermelondischidia, can you tell why?

Liz’s personal experience only…every environment is different:
🪴Light: grow lights 16 hrs/day
🪴Water: currently in its re-rooting medium
🪴Avg Temp last 30 days: 69F
🪴Relative Humidity last 30 days: 45%
🪴Fussy: can be until the root system is well developed
🪴Rate of growth: medium
🪴Fertilizer: I apply a nutrient-rich fertilizer tailored for Hoyas during periods of active growth, approximately every other watering. If the plant enters a dormant phase, I discontinue its use. It’s packed with essential macro and micronutrients, it’s the best I’ve found for hoyas!🪴
🪴Time In My Care: 3 Years

This #hoyapachycladavariegata is a bit of a slow grower, but I’m ok with that. I love the look of it just as it is. This one is certainly on top 10 favorites list. It’s a slow grower so it constantly stays in this beautiful controlled shape!

The name of this one was changed recently but I still refer to this one by its old name. But it’s time to move on, so I’ve referenced both names! Here are some of the names we can use for this hoya: #hoyasubquintuplinervis aka #hoyapachyclada, #hoyapachycladainnervariegated aka #hoyasubquintuplinervisvariegata

Liz’s personal experience only…every environment is different:
🪴Light: under a grow light
🪴Water: when dry
🪴Avg Temp last 30 days: 74F
🪴Relative Humidity last 30 days: 45%
🪴Fussy: not for me
🪴Rate of growth: slow
🪴Rareness: not easy to find at all
🪴Pot size: 3” clear pot
🪴Growing Medium: coco husks with a tad bit of coco coir mixed in
🪴Fertilizer frequency: I use a nutrient diverse fertilizer that is perfect for Hoyas! I use it about every other watering while I’m seeing active growth. I stop if the plant is dormant. This fertilizer contains macro & micronutrients, it’s the best I’ve found for hoyas!
